Yeah this guy sounds like trouble.
Also, if you're anything like me, one cocktail would just leave you feeling major cravings and wanting more, and feeling awkward, then getting super drunk, and making really bad decisions, possibly having unprotected sex, embarrassing yourself, and well I'm sure you know the list goes on and on.
Honestly, if something like that happened to me, and I was interested in the guy, I would quickly say, I don't drink, but I'd love to have a coffee with you. With practice, it becomes second nature to let people know, yeah I don't drink. If anyone gives you crap about that, then they aren't the right people for you to associate with.
Of course maybe you just want to avoid dating altogether right now, which is totally understandable (I'm doing the same thing) and pretty much necessary in early recover.

Thank you for all the messages...I am just going over for a soda as I told him I don't drink...hope I am not fooling myself, but he did seem "ok" with the whole idea....thanks again...dang I miss chat!!

I walked in, and then walked out...too many bottles in sight...not worth it...thank you all! I am just going to go to bed....Benadryl and a Zanax...I need to just go to bed...half hour I will be sleeping...thank you for sticking with me!

You did good, girl! I was in a similar situation last night, too. Though the guy I was with is the owner of my company. He is much younger than me. I do have a little thing for him and he for me. Long and short, I invited him to an event last night, and he showed up. We hung out the entire time. I got some good vibes from him and started thinking to myself, "why not? I like this guy". Then I thought the drink through and envisioned a new life of horror. I know exactly what would happen if I had that one drink... Just not worth it!!
