hi and welcome tonio

what have you been doing for your recovery so far - what kind of support do you have?

Do anything you can that will help distract you, even for a few minutes.

Take a look around here and you will be inspired.

A couple of days ago I had strong urges one evening, and I used what someone here suggested (I can't remember who, but I believe the poster was male). He said that each day he doesn't drink he is a winner. And his goal is to "win" each day. No matter what else happens that day, as long as he didn't drink he was a winner.

Hopefully I didn't butcher his words and idea. But I used it and it worked for me. And remember, urges, while annoying, won't hurt you. Try to ride them out and they should pass.

I had to find things to keep either my mind or physically busy like reading a book about recovery for inspiration or cleaning my house or going for a long walk soaking in a little nature. Do whatever you need to do so that you don't pick up a drink/drug!

Congrats on the 20 days, Tonio - that's a big accomplishment!

Have you ever heard of urge surfing: What is Urge Surfing?

20 days is good, but 40 will be better.
Sobriety isn't exactly a rose garden, especially early, but it beats the Hell out of that stinking old and phony existence we labelled life.

Sorry you slipped up.
what happened?

I dunno about starting all over again - you still have those 20 days with all you accomplished and all you learned

you can totally use all that this time
