Congrats! How are you holding up? After 8 days things usually are much easier for me as the physical stuff has mostly passed. But that is the point where it feels weird psychologically to have been sober for so long, which is its own challenge

Rennet: I'm holding up pretty well. Like I've said in the past, I'm not sure if I was truly addicted to the beer or if it was just a really bad habit/rut. And, that's not the little voice in my head. I know I'm addicted to nicotine...real bad..which I quit yesterday and that's killing me more than no beer. But, I have come to the conclusion that beer isn't good for me and that I know even if I moderate it will: (1) be too difficult and not worth it or (2) I'll just fall back into the rut.
I had some withdrawals (1) one night of bad sweats (2) one night of head sweats and (3) a few headaches. But, that's to be expected after 10 years of consistent drinking. I'm clearer headed, but just have no motivation at work right now. I need a two week vacation, but as a sole proprietor it just isn't going to happen and I have to be satisfied with a three day weekend every now and again.
The wife still hasn't said a word other than the other day when I bought her her weekly six pack and she asked where my beer was (I told her I totally forgot). I've been teaching my 7 year old how to ride a bike. Her friend got one and she wants to learn. We are learning in a field next to the house with no training wheels and she's got bruises all over her legs and back (instead of stopping the bike, when she falls she jumps from the bike and then it falls on her). Good thing I'm not drinking anymore because if CPS saw the bruises I'd probably be arrested for child abuse, haha (wait, that's not funny..well, yeah it is...haha).
what a random emoticon
