Made it through vacay sober

and tomorrow I have SIX MONTHS!!!!! I can't believe I get to pick up that chip tomorrow. Too bad it is yellow, not my favorite color (!)

Anywho, I could not have made it this far without you guys (Dee!!!) and SR. This place is awesome. If there is a place to donate, I totally would.

I have had some serious urges to drink. I mean BAD ones. I started seeing a therapist and we are doing this workbook called Relapse Prevention Therapy Workbook. I go to AA, work the the steps, have a sponsor, have sober friends in AA. I am trying to make changes in my life and be an honest person and it is hard, but good. It sure beats getting drunk.

I really didn't think I could stay sober for this long. But now I am so glad I have and I want to continue to be.

AH, the sober vacation, something I have been dreading. (How can anyone dread a vacation???) Any tips or observations you can give would be appreciated.

Well, we went to the beach. I just swam, ran, walked, read, relaxed... I can't say I did not think about it at one particular sunset....but I know where it takes me: TO HELL. I just have to remember that. It is not fun and games for me.

Congratulations! Just one more sober experience notch on your belt!! Just think what other vacations you can have without the weight of boozing.

Thanks Elizabeth. I have a vacation coming up in a couple of months to a location that has been a real boozefest in the past. I'm hoping I can say no.
