Re: First post dunno what to do!
Well Trix, first thing to do is pick up the phone and call someone else you know...
Until you really want to be free, you'll just dial the same old numbers. Montreal has got lots of dope as any big city will. Also has lots of meetings. Until you sit and listen to some other addicts tell their story of how they stay clean when they crave, odds are when those fifty are gone you'll make another call. You might get treatment at the Sally Ann. You need a meeting first.

Trixy,
I'm not sure you can go anywhere where you can avoid drugs (or alcohol). And, even if you could, you'd still have the problems inside you that led up to your using. The thing is stopping is only the beginning. Then, it's looking at ourselves and what caused us to start drinking/drugging. I hope you can pick up the phone to look for help and make it through today. Hang around here and we'll offer support.
Love, Anna

Hi Trix,
I'd like to add my welcome to the others and confirm that you have taken the first big step by admitting to a problem and looking for help. This is a great place to come for support and understanding. I'm an alcoholic, and I definitely felt as lost as you do right now. It won't be an easy road, but you can do it. We're here to support you.

Wow Anna , nearly 20 years of helping everyone.

Find a rehab and call every day and ask if there is a bed. They are seeking people who are serious about recovery (we all are until we aren't, so get a slight edge over that line and maybe want to be sober more than you want to die a slow and painful death. Rehab will keep you away from the drugs and maybe you can develop new coping skills at rehab. Best of luck to you on your sober journey!
