Hi again

I'm here as a partner of an alcoholic, I met him as an alcoholic so cannot judge him, I love him either way I have always told him that, just want him to give up for him so we can be together for as long as we are meant to be

Thanks all and hi!

Hello Rachel,

If you don't mind me asking, could you elaborate on how you met him as an alcoholic? Did he just tell you that he was from the beginning? First date, second, third,.. etc.? I'm very curious cause I always find myself in this predicament when I'm dating. I know being an alcoholic/addict is part of who I am, but I always feel that it's a negative thing in the eyes of the other person. Although I do know that I am a alcoholic/addict, I struggle with the conditions that come along with it. However, that is entirely another thread.

When i'm on a date with someone or even been dating someone for several months, I just keep it to myself. Recently, I did date someone for about 3 or so months, and she would have a glass of wine during dates. She always wondered why I didn't drink. I do triathlons on a regular basis, so I just hide behind the excuse that I need to constantly be training. Anyways, I think it's awesome that you are there for him and accept it.
