My plan

Hi, so I have been trying to come up with a plan to stay sober. You know do something different so I get different results. I'm doing good and feeling good today and I feel really positive about tomorrow. Friday I have family coming to visit for the weekend so I feel good about that. (I'm also on antabuse) I am planning to go to a church near me on Sunday and reach out to god. This church also has a 12 step group and I am going to talk to someone about it. The first meeting i know of is Tuesday and i plan to be there. Its a 2.5 hour meeting but i figure i need all the help i can get. Hopefully i get to know some people that can help me from there. I'm leaving it in gods hands. It's a start at least.

remember god helps those who help themselves - it will take a lot of proaction from you as well.

but with your own determination, your faith and the support of a strong community.... nothing can stop you.

all the best wishes

I would highly suggest you read the first 164 pages of AA's Big Book. There is a wealth of knowledge about alcoholism and it's treatment. It is free at AA.org

Hi Lil.
Like your plan in, the main.
I think a variety of ploys is smart.
I have started an anti booze diary.
It keeps my mind focussed daily.

It's good to hear that someone is being proactive about seeking recovery. I found solace in the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I find a diary to be helpful as well.

Im trying to keep the one day at a time in mind and just make a plan for each day. I know meetings are really important, just trying to get there in a way thats comfortable for me.

I like the anti booze diary idea. Is it like writing down reasons why you shouldnt drink or why life is better without it? Maybe both?
