I done it...... made it through the evening!!
Oh my days it was tough today but I just kept going and going, and got so much more done than I thought I would.

At the moment it's just my determination keeping me going and when I wobble I log on here.

I have seen a councilour 3 times but my next appointment is not until new years eve.

Big hugs Dorris!!!! :ghug3

I know you are dealing with so MUCH fallout this week....I remember your thread about it. i do relate to your personal struggle with the garbage you've been dealing with, if i were in that position, i would seek professional counseling and guidance....they are much better prepared to help you, because it's more than drinking, drinking is just on the surface.

You do what works for you....and just so you know, i think i had 8 boxes of belgian chocolate biscuits stockpiled the first month...and I once ate an entire giant Cadbury bar right before bed....so you are not alone.

you are right to come here and vent as you need to....anytime....i don't follow a formal program, but SR and gratitude has gotten me pretty far along.

Yay for your Doris!! I think keeping busy really helps.

My Daily To Do List:
1) Don't drink
2) Eat good foods
3) Move (even a little bit)

Anything else I manage to accomplish is just extra.

Fandy,
What exactly are you saying?
Is this wrong?

"...and I once ate an entire giant Cadbury bar right before bed."

Really!

I am eating a very civilized cup of "Smarties" right now,.............after 2 years.

Dorris,
So glad you made it through the evening.

Please, take it easy.
As lots of people have said,

Your job today and every day for now, is to stay sober and take good care of you.

I always thank God (even though I think I may want kids eventually) that I am getting sober before I have them because being a mom is such a big job! Very rewarding but a challenging and often overlooked job at that! I admire you. Even if you're struggling, you're trying to stay sober and I can tell that you really care for your son. I was a very sensative child of an alcoholic and my father chose to drink all through my life... I feel like it affected me sometimes but I know he loves me more than anything and that's what I keep in my heart. If you loose it, apologize and go forward. Tell him you love him. Kids are usually quick to forgive and less judgemental than adults.

Also, I agree, make time for yourself even if it's only 10 minutes at the beginning or end of the day. You deserve that. Find a quiet spot to meditate or pray if you like. Or maybe you'd rather read or just lay quietly. Whatever helps to center you and give you peace. As for the dreaded to-do lists, I make them and usually loose them half way through so that shows you how unorganized I can be! I did away with that unless it was REALISTIC.
