In case anybody needs any added encouragement to quit...
Excellent for you Medi. I'm a little jealous though. I am on Day 10 and haven't lost an ounce and I gained 12-15 pounds the beginning of the year after qutiing smoking all of which is till stuck to my butt, hips and thighs. Oh well - what price health. Guess I'll have to strat exercising eventually - ugh!

I'm jealous! I thought I would lose at least a pound a week because my daily bottle of wine had 500 calories. I have replaced my wine calories with candy and sweet drink calories.
I think I am strong enough now that I can start consciously watching what I eat. I need to lose 25 pounds.

I actually put on weight when I stopped using. Not a substantial amount but enough to make a visible difference. But then I was addicted to cocaine and that kept my weight down significantly......need to get to the gym. Congratulations on losing the weight though, and for those disheartened by not losing any. Work on the mind and the body will follow.

Yeah, I wasn't sure which way this would go. I had myself convinced that drinking was keeping my weight down and I was really worried it would go the other way because that sometimes happens too.
Relieved, but don't worry notlosing people. Your liver is reparing itself and who knows how it's going to act when it does that. In the end you'll be much better at burning fat than you are now, at least so they say.

I'm on day 7, and I noticed today my face looks a lot less puffy and the rings around my eyes are gone. But I am most happy about not having to worry about my behavior. I have taken to working out again. I want to quit smoking but for now will keep it until I am stronger in my sobriety...
