I can't imagine that anyone in AA would have anything against AVRT, and if they do, that's their problem. I say go for it. AA probably has a similar thing. They just don't codify it with an acronym. It's pretty basic stuff and I think most of us do it when we're questioning our thought processes, if we have the clarity of mind to do that.
I bought the Rational Recovery book which is AVRT, I also Like Women in Sobriety, I am picking one principle a day to focus on and then journal at night. I think it is just important to have a plan. Tomorrow I have my second d meeting with a counselor. The first time was just an initial consult, not sure what to expect, but I am definitely in better emotional and physical shape then I was when I made that appointment 12 days ago!
I like both of those things.
And meditation.
And tarot cards.
And Buddhism.
And nature.
And cooking.
And exercise.
And diet..
Living with complete honesty and vulnerability..
All things I think help me stay sober.
Whatever works, right?
