I have never read in the Big Book , 12 and 12 , As Bill Sees It or anywhere else in AA literature any opinion on the subject but maybe I missed something. I view abstinence myself as 0% , no alcohol what so ever but that's me.
Lots of people have opinions it seems on this. I do know old timers who relapsed starting on low alcohol beer. To me , I drank to get drunk at the end so I see no purpose in my own consumption. I prefer tomato juice or Pelegrino/perrier anyway, but hey maybe for someone tomato juice is to close to their old "favourite"
When they roll out near vodka I may be in trouble but I don't see that happening ...oh wait , they did , they are called coolers...which I luckily never liked much

Where is it in the AA official dogma that non alcoholic beer is verboten?
Just curious.
I find other things a much worse trigger, like sitting around a campfire with drinking buddies, walking past the alcohol in the grocery store, stress, etc.
If you like the taste of beer, and you have one, It COULD be ok.
If you are worried about it, you probably aren't ready for it.
Be honest with yourself about your intentions.
