Introducing Myself
Introducing Myself
Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a quick post to introduce myself. This is day one. I haven't entirely thought out my method of how I'm going to beat this (alcohol use), but I know I have to do something different. For the immediate future I am going to distract myself with exercise and work, avoid social gatherings (most of which center around alcohol) and read as much as I can about recovery.
I am not entirely new here. I have been reading up on the forums for a few years now. The longest stretch of sobriety I had was 18 days and that was quite awhile ago. I look forward to reading and posting.

Welcome orchid!
Glad you decided to introduce yourself and join us! It took me months to get up the nerve to post. Getting sober is scary, but stay close to this place and get all the support you can. I never thought I'd be able to break the cycle, but I'm so glad I did and I know you will be too.
Keep reading and posting!

Welcome to SR! It's an amazing community of constant support. It's not an easy road, but much easier with support from people who understand exactly where you are coming from! Best of luck on your journey!

Dear Orchid82,
I wish you all the very best.
You will I am sure find it very helpful and friendly at SR It has truly amazed me how many people are out there who have problems with alcohol directly or indirectly.
Every day there are new members joining - it is quite scary...but at the same time comforting to know we are not all alone in our struggle.
