Hello,

My partner admitted himself last Friday to Caron alcohol and drug treatment facility.

I attended my first Al-Anon meeting last night, but I am also seeking any local gay Al-Anon meetings near Harleysville, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Picking up the pieces on my end and trying to fine the strength and clarity for myself, and for him, for a future together or apart.

When I first got sober I wanted to find meetings full of people in the legal profession because I thought only they could understand. I gave up trying to find specific mtgs labeled that way. Turns out, my home group is about 50% attorneys.

I'd suggest sticking to urban locals, which is where my home group is, and I'd bet you'd run into more gays than say... the outter suburbs. Good luck!

Wow, I hadn't heard of those meetings for Al Anon, I think we've found a need for a new solution! Al-Anon / Alateen Family Groups, Pennsylvania Area | pa-al-anon.org

Here's a link for Al Anon in PA, try calling and asking about them, they may just exist!

In general, any Al Anon meeting might help you!

And penn... I get it. Gay only meeting are helpful when just starting. There are definite differences in life perspective that can be felt at those meeting. I have been to both.
