Glad to hear you're doing well Nigey

My coffee intake went through the roof when I quit too. I switched to decaff for a bit then cut it down to one cup a day. Just goes to prove I can moderate my drinking x

7 months down Xmas went well. Then life turned upside down on the 4th. Just taking stock now. Pretty proud I haven't drunk and I believe that helped big time just gotta stay at it whilst things settle down.

At 8 months and staying strong. Pretty happy all in all and things are stabilizing. Still a long way to go. A bit at a time. Helps to look back on some stuff.

Early post - 9 months this weekend but will be away camping. Still on track and re inforced by some of the stupid crap I see alcohol take the blame for (not meant to sound condescending I really dont mind people drinking or smoking I just see the worst of their behaviour, didnt seem so noticeable when I was heavy on it too).

I believe I am getting better each day. I dont drink and dont need/want to. Cant believe I have come this far, I just re read my original post.

Looking forward to Easter. Then on to 12 months.

Best of luck to all.

10 months down, closing in on a year.

Gave away the only grog left in the house, the bottle of good scotch that was put away for my boys 18 birthday (he is 5). Would prefer to buy him a car or put him through uni with the money I save along the way.

Still lurking on the site. Good luck to everyone, if I can get this far then anyone can. Things really are improving.

Man, I just love a good story with a happy ending! This thread was such an enjoyable read, spanning such a long period of time, and very inspirational.

As you said, what a difference 21 months can make! Thanks for coming back with a wonderful update...

Close enough to 2 years now I am unsure of the exact date so I am claiming it.

Had thoughts of what I might post about the path travelled to get here but I think all that needs to be said is I am sober, have changed ALOT of things in my life and am happier now than I was before. If I work as hard as I have the past two, in a few more years I will be in good place financially and work wise.

I only bring my original post back up because it easy to now think I wasnt that bad, hadn't hit rock bottom etc..... Wasnt like you guys and gals.

I find it hard to committ to a lifetime but thought I might go another 12 months instead and reassess then. One day at a time of course.

Thanks for the help. If I can do it anyone can.

See you in another 12.

Nigey
