Will see if I can find a an old wacky comedy to watch. Or I'll laugh at myself. My DI PTSD therapist said I was the funniest sick man he knew, I asked him if he looked in the mirror today.

In the first few weeks of abstinance i read loads of books in the insomnia hours , Project gutenberg was a life saver, i particuarly enjoyed "a vagabond journey around the world".

In the uk we had films made in the 30's by a man named Will Hay , "Oh! Mr porter" being a particular favorite i can just watch it over and over.

Bestwishes, M

I read really boring books on history or economics. That will put you right back to sleep, and if you can't go to sleep you are learning while being awake! Win-Win!

due to life long insomnia, I am remarkably well-read. I read a bit of just about anything, from poetry to economics to political critique to bodice ripping fiction. Sometime I get caught up in researching something and next thing I know, it's time for my day to start.

I swear, I'm from another planet with the different rotation. LOL

Actually part of the drinking was to sleep. I had to discover I was not sleeping but passing out. Now I wake up not come to.

Fitz, the insomnia is what led me to drink too. alcohol is NOT a good sleep aid. reading business law is better, I think.

Like Dee, a good comedy will always get me through the night. My all-time favorite is "A confederacy of Dunces." I fear I'm turning into Miss Trixie with each passing day. I've already showed up to work with my sweater inside out and not one of my co workers bothered to mention it. LOL

Love from Lenina

(((Dee, how ya doing, old friend?)

It's all good Dee. I wouln't trade sobriety for anything. Well maybe a trash load of money and a women who could put up with me. No actually this is good. I used to be a stand up comic until I could not stand up.

I went to bed last night very early for me...about 9:00 p.m. I was dog-tired from the wife and I painting the house. Anyway, I woke up thinking it was about 5:00 a.m. I started a little coffee, smoked a cigarette, and said my morning prayer. Something didn't seem exactly right. Came back in and sat down at the computer.....It was 11:30 p.m.! I'd only been asleep about two hours.

OK....I know there's a melatonin around here someplace....g'night ya'll. I'm gonna try again.

This was true for me also . Even though i have bad nights of insomnia which i just accept, i feel a lot more rested these days after , not just passing out .

Bestwishes, M
