Beer in the fridge

After getting home from a nice day on the golf course I noticed an old friend sitting in the fridge. I don't know where it came from, probably from a friend who is staying at my place at the moment. I thought about drinking it for a good minute, but decided to pass. It's not even that I'm craving it at all, just the old "man that beer would be nice right now". Either way, I know one would do nothing, which in a sick way made it very easy to pass. Anyway, one day at a time.

Well, that's not an 'old friend' to my way of thinking.
Good on you for passing it up tho - for whatever reasons

That beer in the fridge has about 24 friends. Run away!

Good for you for not drinking it. I used to find it very difficult to have alcohol in my house. My husband is a normal drinker - he'll have one beer every now and again (occasionally he'll get drunk but not often at all) and so if he buys beer or someone buy him alcohol it'll be sitting in our house for a long time. That was really difficult at first - my eyes would be drawn to it and I'd think of the what ifs... I never actually wanted to drink it, but I'd allow my brain to fantasise about it, which now I know was pretty unhealthy of me. Anyway, 4 months have passed sober now, and if there's alcohol in the house I don't even notice it - it's a non-drink to me now, it's as much furniture as the wine rack it's sat in (and wine was my drink of choice), so it does get easier... over time you replace drunk you habits with sober you habits and you do gradually start to forget that you ever behaved any differently. All the best to you!

So true. I allowed these friends to gang up on me last month, and it wasn't pretty.

Good for you for turning away! Happy Sunday.

Note to self - perhaps they should have named them "sick" packs? Just sayin
Fabulous choice you made, Prodigy - way to go!
