Football, Euro 2012
It is hard Nigel, you learn to manage your triggers and enjoy things more sober.
I went to a gig the other week, normally I would have been more concerned about buying booze, now I just enjoyed the entertainment, much better, cant imagine why I used to sit in bars

I was just thinking that!
Me and H loved to watch the footy and have a drink together.
We've both quit now but I suspect he's going to find the next few weeks quite a test.....
Stay strong all you. Let's face it, whether we drink or not is unlikely to affect England's performance!!!x

Yep it sure would make a change watching the games sober for once. We can do it. Like you say Billy, we prob will enjoy it more. It is difficult when people around you all drink, esp in times of group gathering.

Yes, I am in Amsterdam now and just got invited by the boss to her house for "drinks" and football. I am torn, I want to enjoy the social side of things (I am alone in The Netherlands for a work trip) but don't want to spend the whole night struggling and battling! Anyone in Amsterdam who wants to watch a sober match against Denmark tomorrow night?

Our US football season starts in August...however....I've been attending
and watching sports for many years without a drink.
There are many AA members who do the same...we get together often
for all sorts of interesting events and fun activities...
The best thing....not only do I know who won...but how...

Hi all, it's crazy here in Amsterdam, feels like New Years' Eve! I declined two invites to watch the match, got home by 5pm, and am now going to watch the match on TV with juice. I thought it would be sooooo hard, but so far, the thought of drinking kinda makes me a little ill. Holland-Denmark tonight. Virtual bets anyone?
