Five months today
Five months today
I can hardly believe it.
As I look back on the past few months I realize --- I was a real go-getter and I've slowed down.
I'm absolutely stressed to the MAX at work - which is a bit temporary as I have two trials next week - so this is normal for work.
BUT, after having my first sober vacation, I've slacked big time on my recovery work. No BB reading, no sponsor meetings, no AA mtgs.
This is realize is an issue and I'm doing my damnest to rectify it without completely losing my mind at work.
So first things first, get my work finished, get to a mtg hopefully, and meet sponsor tonight.
Thanks to everyone here for all of the thoughtful responses to my posts filled with agonizing issues, not so agonizing issues, happiness and lows. Group hug everyone!!

Thanks everyone! Complacency. Yes, sort of. I feel really overwhelmed at work and can't seem to get enough done fast enough. Like I said, it's the nature of my work. Trials are very stressful and to have 2 in one week is a lot! I've made a step though, in canceling a work lunch to get to my mtg. I'm also meeting with my sponsor tonight.
Good job on the five months!! It's inspiring to hear how well others are doing. I don't think I've ever 'really' made it to five months, aside from being pregnant and having my daughter.
It's great that you recognize not doing the things that are helping you stay sober. I'd have to say that's probably a huge step in recovery. It's so easy to slough things off and be like "I'm busy, I'll get to it" and you haven't. Good for you!

They were talking about how 12th step work can be coming to a meeting to be present as a member, shows newcomers that there is hope. We are there.
Can you imagine if everyone got well and didn't show up anymore?
Those would be some empty rooms.
Thank you, as you have inspired me to visit my home group soon.
Congratulations for 5 months!
At the last meeting I went to, I realized how many new people were there. So many people to help. Even if we are not ready to sponsor...it is good for us to be there to stand with them.

Lost3000,
Being in legal myself, I can understand how other things get swept under the rug when everything at work is so time-sensitive! I need to get more active regarding my sobriety also.
Congratulations on your 5 months sobriety!

It's complete madness at work right now. But I know it'll come to an end, eventually! Thanks for the well wishes.
