How much were you drinking at your peak?
Hi guys,
Drinking in excess as we know isn't good.
How much was everybody drinking at the height of their problem.
I was hitting 5 or 6 pints and a bottle of wine after work.
Not good is it. The damage that I must have been doing to myself is frightening.
I've had a good day at work today business wise and I'm going to celebrate in the garden with a cup of tea. The weather is gorgeous here at the moment.
Bruno.

I was drinking 2+ pints of Vodka a day. Each day was an absolute haze . . . alcohol-hell, really. I was worthless. After almost a year of sobriety (1-year on the 27th of this month), I am still amazed at how efficient I am when not drinking. I almost feel superhuman.
Makes me want to vomit when thinking about those days. Urrgh

Hey Bruno,
I think I was probably drinking about the same as you but I never had a 'peak' as such because I've drank like that since I was 18. There were times which were worse than others though. Ultimately I don't think it really matters...the only reason I ever really wanted to know how much other people drank was so I could compare myself to them and try and convince myself I wasn't an alcoholic. I was actually relieved that there are people on here that drank less than me and still considered it enough of a problem to quit

Hi Bruno
It was 4-6 500ml cans of 5% beer for me typically, sometimes more. Some days I wouldn't drink, but most days was 4 or more cans (I could never see the point of drinking fewer). Weekends this rose typically to 6-8 cans at least on one day, though I would often have one dry weekend day.

Wow, the amount of alcohol some of you were drinking is staggering to me.
My last relapse I drank about a pint of bourbon and 12 beers over a 3 day period. I just turned 50 so I guess my age has turned me into a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. The biggest reason for me to quit was the horrible hangovers after only a few drinks.

My peak was 7 years ago (still drinking).
...and I was drinking LOTS of wine first thing in the morning (on Sat and Sun), and then pass out early afternoon, then grab a bite and hit the beer. My wife would get home from work around 7:30 that night (nurse). This pattern allowed me to stay coherent and keep her from noticing.
Not proud.

Before I quit I was having 8 cans every night then probably 12 on fridays and saturdays, then drank all day on sundays maybe 16. Then there's the days (not often but still bad) where fuelled by cocaine god only knows how much I would drink. Sitting here sober as a stone it...I don't know what to think. If ever I think, maybe I don't have a problem I can come back and read this post!
