My First Day

Hi

Just joined this site for a very important reason. I have an alcohol problem.

Basically my family and I have been through a few months of emotional and financial hell.

I have been dealing with it fine until about 7pm, then i hit the booze.

Over the weeks the more I get drunk the more I get angry and aggressive with my husband.

This morning I woke up, my husband had taken the kids to school and I began to remember all the horrible things I said.

I have poured all the booze down the sink and called my husband and made him promise to take any vodka away from me.

I am posting this because I am so ashamed and so scared but I know that it has to stop now.

Thank you.

glad yer here and i hope yer desperate enough to do whatever it takes to stop drinking. so, ya wanna get sober and are ya willing to go to any lengths/ do what ever ya gotta to get sober? if you are truly an alcoholic, theres more to it than just stopping drinking. gotta change you. but good news!!! the work to change wont hurt ya and its not illegal!!
if you make the decision to do whatever ya gotta do, you and your life WILL get better and that will take T.I.M.E.

Not sure how much you’re drinking but you are going to go through detox for a week or so. Best to talk with your doc and tell him so that you are medically safe through the process. If you’re really serious about stopping you’re going to need a program for the long haul. I suggest you look into AA in your area. You will be glad you did. Welcome! Lots of good people on this site.

Good for you....knowing you need help is a good start...
You may find de toxing uncomfortable and Yes your doctor can
be of assistance if it gets dicey.

Blessings to you and your family as you move into a sober future
Welcome

Thanks all. I have an appointment 2morrow with our doctor.

At this moment detoxing doesn't scare me as much as getting drunk again. So I guess that is good.

My plan is to just take one day at a time.

Welcome. You are embarking on something positive and this will be a gift to your family. You don't have to wake up with regret and worries about what you said the night before. You don't have to have a heavy head and heavy heart anymore.

This site can be useful to you in getting on the right path. Glad you have an appointment with your doctor. Best wishes to you, and hope to hear more from you soon.
