4 days sober and feeling great
I want to thank this board as it's been very helpful in reminding how bad the negative aspects of drinking are towards daily life. I was a vodka drinker from 6-10 (when I passed out). There was a some weekends I drank all weekend and then had to suffer detox at work which is miserable. Throwing up in the bathroom and sweating is awful. I have been sober 4 days and have no doubt I will make it through day 5. I take some anti-depressants/anxiety and feel like the are far more effective when sober.
It amazes me to think at this point last weekend I was lying in bed drinking from the bottle. Now I am about to work out.
Life is much better sober!!!

Hi MHGone, I am also on Day 4 and feeling so much better than day 1 and 2. I can relate to the all week and weekend drunk and then detox at work, I mean how many times could I say "No, No I am OK I just have the FLU" while I was working ha ha. this was going on 3 days a week every week, come on, who was I fooling....just myself. Glad to here you a staying with it. Good job!!!
Still I rise.

Way to go mhgone!
I am just beginning Day 5. I am also on anti-anxiety meds and I DO think they work better when not drinking. The longest I have been sober (in a long time) was 11 days earlier in the month, so I am trying again.
We can do it

Thanks Reviving. We sound a lot alike in our struggles. I was sober for about 13 days about 15 months ago. Before that it was sober here and there for a day. But I want everything to be behind me as there is nothing good that comes with drinking.

I know exactly what you mean. My coworkers probably thought I had the "flu" every single friggin week!
