Most important, Thank you SR, everyone has helped. I know I still have a long road ahead but with the wisdom of all the posts and support I am ready to face the rest of my life without a bottle except maybe soda pop ha ha. Again thank you all....

If I was lucky enough to live in a paradise such as Belize, and snorkel/dive/enjoy the beautiful climate/nature, I would not drink and would just get high on the environment.
Actually maybe the surroundings would make me want to drink more to enhance the experience. Always an excuse to drink for me. Congratulations on day 4, keep it up and enjoy life.
Off to work I go.

Rum same price as soda, yeah that would sure make it tough. For that price I would have dropped the beer and probably become a Rummy. Temptation to drink is hard enough. Might be in Cozumel in a few months, snorkeling and diving. You sure live in a beautiful area of the world. Stay strong and enjoy!
Belize Diver,
congrats on day 4. What else are you doing to stay sober besides this forum
Is there an AA group in Belize? Sounds like they need one.
I found in early sobrIety I needed a lot of support. I would continually listen to recover broadcast network, programs about recovery inundating myself with information about relapsing, what to be aware of.
Something worked I am nearly 10 months sober and feeling so many of the benefits of sobriety.
Get a program and follow it.
All the best
