so weak on day 3..is it normal?

My husband is on day 3 of withdrawals from oxycontin (he has taken pretty high doses for over 10 yrs from a back injury) He has had all the "normal" symptoms from what I am reading about. But today he is SO weak. Much weaker than with a flu. He can hardly stand up on his own, have to help him get up. Thankfully today he is finallly sleeping some but I am SO worried about him. He threw up for the first time tonight. He isnt taking anything prescribed right now to help him off of it. He weaned for 3 weeks on his own, and Wed night at 10:30 had his last pill. He did take to many sleeping pill last night which is why I Thought he was so drowsy today , he improved for a while this afternoon then after he was sick he just petered right out again. The first two days he could not even sit still so I am glad he is resting but am afraid of what else migth happen? He drank enough fluids today, (water and gatorade), taking lots of epson salt baths, vitamins, potassiu, and hylands restfull legs homeopathic pills seem helpful. Oh and he is also on blood pressure med that he was already on. Should I be taking him ot the hospital or is this all normal. It breaks my heart!!
Thankss

Hi and welcome

I know nothing about oxys, but I think anytime you're concerned is a good time to seek professional medical advice - especially if he's taking sleeping meds on top of other medication without a Drs supervision.

Get a Dr's opinion.

We also have a substance abuse forum here you might like to read through - there's a lot of oxy threads there

I agree, but I would call a rehab facility that may have a better grasp on what's happening. Just my opinion. Hang in there.

I read a little, please do your own search on Oxycontin withdrawal or call your prescribing doctor.
