Update from last post
Since my last post:
-have drank on friday and saturday nights only
-have not exceeded 6 beer on any friday night
-have not exceeded 8 beer on any saturday night
-went to a 40th birthday party: drank 2 beer and then abstained, allowing my wife to drink her wine so I could drive home (which I did)
-have had several 4 beer and 5 beer friday nights after work
have been able to finish 8 beer on saturday nights and call it a night, knowing full well that drinking any more will cause a hangover the next day- in other words, am still able to rationalize after this amount of alcohol intake
in all honesty it has not been a challenge at all. Just being honest to myself. I am able to stop after I reach my allowed limit, and that's even if I actually reach it (which in many cases I don't... I drink a few then go to bed)
I totally realize this may be interpreted as a denial post by many here. I understand. But as of now, there is no denial. I am able to moderate at this time. I am the only person who knows myself, and I can say I will always moderate, but I don't know what lies ahead in my life, so i still continue to check in here.
I am far less concerned than before, but I still check in here every day and read everyone's posts.

I'm glad you feel less concerned about your drinking, bool.
With all due respect, you need longer than 3 weeks to really determine if this is long term proposition or not, though.
If you find things change you know you can find support here

That seems like a lot of work... I find not drinking much easier. I was once a mad scientist trying to count & track my alcohol intake & justifying it one way or another. So glad that is over ;-)
All of the best with your drinking or non drinking.... whichever you decide is best for you.

That sounds exhausting to constantly have to plan, keep track/count and think about. If it works for you, that's awesome. I know that wouldn't work for me, I have too much other stuff that takes priority now.
14 beers in two days, that sounds like binge drinking and it isn't healthy.
Glad you are documenting your "fun nights!" I like documenting, but usually for work (which means pay).
I wish you well! Sorry this is sounding a little sarcastic, but I've been there. It lasted almost a year, then I "forgot" to count.
Peace, love, & concern,

I wish you well, but we have seen so many people come to SR determined to moderate their drinking, and, I don't think it ever works. I agree with the exhaustion from planning and plotting and trying to convince yourself that this will work.
