First March season under my belt SOBER!
I am a fiddle player and today will mark 71 days without alcohol. I posted not too long ago that I was nervous this would be too challenging during the St.Patty's Day March madness. I am happy and proud to say that I succeeded in not relapsing. Nine gigs and three parades later in just the last three weeks and here I am. It was tough at first but kind of like that nervous moment when you run in catch the wave and ride it on through. After a brief moment I learned that I really enjoyed the experience being sober and enjoyed even more being clear headed and not hungover the entire time. I am not in that bubble that I used to put myself in with alcohol whenever I was on stage. I am experiencing everything around me in my music and loving every minute of it. Granted I most certainly had my urges for a Jameson shot (I am in fact a whiskey girl) but they passed on by. This accomplishment though it might seem small is huge for me. I feel if I made it through this I can make it through everything else.
