went on a binge drinking again :-(

I drank 7 days straight. I had to go to the hospital because I couldn't stop. I'm home now and detoxing myself. They gave me pills for the shanks. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. So now im just beating up myself for drinking. I hate this disease.

I'm drinking orange juice now and I have to wait 2 hours until I can take an other pill.

Many pursue it into the gates of insanity or death. We learned that we had to fully concede to our innermost selves that we were alcoholics.
It doesn't have to be this way.

It's everywhere for me too...But I don't drink...For today. I had to do something about it and I did. I had to give up.

I hope you get yourself well again soon. You don't need to go through this ever again. This could be the last time. That's how it happens - just one time you don't do it again.

I did it SO many times and ALWAYS ended up back in the same place.

Hang in there!

I'd be depressed too if I just got out of the hospital after a 7 day bender...How many times have you detoxed Act1on?

Why don't you try doing something different....This is what I did...I walked into a room full of people I didn't know and told them I was an alcoholic and I needed some help...That I couldn't stop drinking on my own. Guess what...These people had stopped and they showed me how to do it...Was I scared sh!tless and completely ashamed of myself??...You bet. But I did it...And I stopped drinking..One fricken day at a time...8 months ago. I'm happy now....Sitting here sober enjoying life and telling you how I did it. You can listen...Or you can get a few days or weeks clean and get ready for your next detox....Lot of choices out there Act!0n...And your the only one that can make them.

I'm sorry to read this act10N.
I used to do the same thing over and over too, with worse and worse results.

Deep down I wanted to drink - and I wanted to drink my way with no consequences.

The best day of my life was when I gave that idea up.

I hope you'll decide to commit to doing some thing different this time - the sooner you quit the better it will be for you, honestly....

sorry for your relapse. can you identify what caused it? maybe if you could then in the future you would be more on guard when a trigger hits. you deserve a sober life.

Too bad you still think you have a shot at finessing this.

From January:

'You want to quit for good, I know. You would have done that if that were possible for you to carry through on, under your own steam. You can't seem to decide and then make it stick.

Make a real effort to get the amount of help you need to succeed. Your efforts to this point have been insufficient, so double up or triple up. Inconvenience yourself to a far greater degree than you have before. Forget wishes, promises and firm decisions and instead put some action into this. Show up regularly and often anywhere your desire for lasting sobriety will be supported.

Perhaps your feet will be smarter than your head has been.'

I'll just recycle it for you each month since this is your pattern and you're locked into it due to your unwillingness to get the help you need. The way this works is you'll feel better and soon become absolutely sure you've got a real handle on it this time and things will work out. Then shortly after that point we'll do this again.

Don't forget to take your pill.

Honesty, goes along ways to admitting why we drink. AA meettings is the best place to figure that out. Hope you find peace, be well
