Great job on 6 months!! You give hope to some of us who are still struggling. You make me believe that it is possible to live life with no alcohol... thank you!

Alcohol FREE..? NO Alcohol? Now that's
inspiration..!

Remembering to treat others with kindness,
care, understanding as I was once sick. My
mind or brain can play tricks easily as I IMO
certainly know. Too bad Near beer is not root
beer, cause i could drink the heck out of it with
no consequences.

O'Doul's Beer IMO is a type of beer with alcohol
in it and one will not cause anyone to become
enebriate, drunk, tipsy. It's the Idea of having
a near alcoholic beverage wouldnt excite me in
the least. I would rather have the REAL thing if
i could drink responsible. However in my own case,
Alcohol, any percent of it is POISON.

In My Opinion - IMO as always as I respect others.

Quitting alcohol was always something that I wanted to do for a long time because I was tired of feeling like crap the next day. When the panic attacks started that was the LAST straw. My body and brain finally had enough after 20 years of it. The panic attacks gave me the opportunity to GET AWAY from the alcohol. What helped me the most was just taking advantage of the opportunity to get away from it. The desire to drink went away the longer I was away from it. I wish I could have taken the break away from alcohol BEFORE the panic attacks hit but I seem to learn everything the hard way.

WDing...Congrats on 6 months! I remember your early posts. I also just had my 6 months. I'm glad for your post. I already downloaded book number 1 to my Kindle, and will start it this weekend. I have taken an occasional prescribed benzo for tension headaches, so I'm interested in how they act like alcohol. Maybe I need to re-think them, and consult my doctor.

Anyway, glad you posted, and congrats.

Hi LoftyIdeals, I would recommend staying away from benzos. Check out the forum on benzobuddies.org to see how many people are having issues with benzo w/d. The w/d from benzos are very similar or even worse than alc w/d. Benzos also attach to the gaba receptors and w/d from them can be a living hell. As long as you keep them VERY occasional then maybe they won't be a problem. It's when you take them everyday that they can cause issues.

Congrats on your 6 months too!
