I forgot !!!!

Well, I actually accomplished some things today. Funny how not drinking and sleeping allows me to be more productive. I have have my thesis statement and a rough draft on my introductory paragraph, changed the bed, did two loads of wash, and went grocery shopping.

When heading home from the grocery store I was thinking about putting the groceries away before I fixed a drink, then I remembered I don't have anything to drink. At first I felt panic and anxiety, then I felt relief and asked my higher power to help me stat sober as I started to cry. Silly! I forgot I am going to have to deal with this emotional roller coaster. Oh well, what ever it takes.

Not silly at all - we'd probably all be healthier if we could have a good cry more often.... Emotions really can seem uncomfortable at first, so be patient with yourself and remember that they don't last forever.

Glad you had a productive day! Yay!

I'm 1 year 6 months sober, emotional roller coaster yes, but not as bad as when I was using, or in the beginning of my sobriety. I "plat the tape all the way through", to remind myself of why I can't use, and it works. Goin to college fantastic, I want to do the same. Thanks for the thread.
