2 months, 6 days!! Thanks to SR!
I have been sober for two months now and my life since alcohol has been incredible. I feel great, I have started to rebuild relationships, my boyfriend is happier than ever to have me back and I see everything so clearly now. I even felt strong enough in by sobriety to treat myself to a night out on New Years Eve and drank WAY too much iced tea, but it was a learning experience for me to see how I react to a bar-type environment. Although I will not make that a regular thing, I stayed strong with my friends' support and went home at 1am feeling so proud that I had fun, socialized and went to bed sober. (I still prefer lounging on the couch with some hot tea, my dogs and a good book to going out in the evening by far!)
I owe most of this success so far to this forum. I remember feeling so helpless and thinking there was no way anyone was as bad off as I was. I found comfort in the success of others and the fact that there really were other people needing help the way I did. I check in here a few times a week to reconfirm that I am doing the right thing. You are all beautiful and inspiring to me, so thank you to everyone for any kind words you may have said to encourage me. I dearly love this forum and it's people. You have changed my life. Cheers to all for a Happy New Year!!!
