Long Way To Go
Congratulations on 30 days! It sounds like you have found some tools to stay sober and you're smart enough to use them when you need them.
Have you found a sponsor and started working the steps yet? That will also help.

Congrats headstrong on 30 days. And good job on sharing what you felt at the meeting.
That's one of the great things about AA. You talk about what you are thinking and feeling and people who have been there come to your aid. That's what the program is about, one alcoholic reaching out to another.
Good job.
God bless.

I am very thankful to have found the group that I did. I'm starting to see the same faces again and again. We are getting to know each other and our stories. It is comforting to go and listen, even if I don't have anything to say. I got my 1 month coin last night. It is in my pocket right now.
We were talking last night and more than one of us has had a rough month so far. But we all agreed that we were still in good spirits. If I were still drinking, I could have easily gone through a 12 pack each night, waking up the next morning feeling like crap. Instead, I got a good nights sleep and feel pretty good despite having to pay the lawyer again, despite having not seen my daughter in three months, despite not knowing what the DA has waiting for me. All would have been excuses to drink in the past. Now I feel the feelings, get mad, angry, whatever and then get past it.

You're doing the next right thing...My hat's off to you. It doesn't hurt being around people that can relate to you and you can relate to them. Pretty soon they will be "friends". Keep it up. Good things will start to happen for you.
Oh..and congrats on the one month chip...Hold it tight.
