i take about 900mg, though the book suggested 1000. i take the kind that is combined with the proper ratio of magnesium. i later checked in my "nutritional healing" book and those authors actually recommend 1500 mg for insomnia.
a side-effect can be diarrhea, so i don't want to take more than what has already had a good effect.
