Thanks everyone for the well wishes! It really means a lot to me. I never dreamed 2 years ago that I would celebrate this period of sobriety. What a wonderful journey this is. I love SR and the support you receive here.
Popping over from the One Year and Under thread. Reached a year of sobriety this past Labor Day. For someone who had drank since he was 18--I'm 55 now--a wonderful milestone.
My sister was visiting from Vermont. We talked a lot about my recovery and about alcoholism in general as she has just gotten out of a relationship with a man who, in her words, drank a lot. I think she has a little more of an understanding of the problems that alcohol can bring with it.
Blessed to have my sister's support, blessed to be healthy. Blessed to be sober.
