It's 14 months today for me!
It seems like so far in the past but it was only a year ago that I was just focusing on getting to 90 days - I was proud of 60 days but counting days was still a struggle and I was so hoping that it would get easier after 90 days. And fortunately for me, the struggle did get easier as I got more sober time.

Had a great day, cleaned the yard, did chores, biked to the beach and went for a swim, ran into a former classmate and we talked for a bit about meeting up later this week (he's cute and single, went to a party at a beautiful home on the water in my parents old neighborhood, went to get a Ginger ale at the bar they had set up, a 12 years old boy was manning the bar, everyone looked on in approval as he poured wine and mixed drinks in his navy blazer, prep school tie and crisp white shorts...so inappropriate
Thanks for holding open the 14th month sober door for me lyddie
Busy...busy...busy with house reno's and fighting BIG OIL from pumping 82 million litres a day of Tar Sands bitumen into supertankers (150 km from open water) in my little city perched on the edge of Paradise.
Anybody see last months National Geographic? The one with the Spirit Bear (a pure white black bear) on the cover? There's a couple articles in there about where I live, and the photo's are pretty darn good!
Feelin' GREAT these days

Here's a link to the Pipeline Through Paradise article;

Here's a link to some Spirit Bear photo's taken about 40 miles from where I live;

Sorry LaFemme, but Zain and I are way too sneaky to get photographed if we don't want to be photographed

Thanks Murray for the links. The pictures are beautiful. They remind me of Alaska. I used to live there before the pipeline. What a tragic story though. I had not heard anything about the proposed pipeline.
Thanks to all for this thread. It is very inspiring and uplifting. I just wanted to share that I have 2 years sobriety today!
