6 Weeks Sober, feels like a lifetime ago

I haven't been on here a lot lately. I really leaned on this site as a crutch my first two weeks. I know it's only been 6 weeks, but that's the longest I've had NOTHING ( even quit caffeine) to drink since I was probably 19 ( I'm 34 now). For those in your first few days...I promise you, it get so much better. It's been easy for me, I simply decided it was time, a higher power has made me think clearly now, and I can't imagine how I drank so much there at the end. I was a mess. I look better, everyone's asking me what my " secret diet" is, I'm down about 15 pounds, which feels good on so many levels. It's awsome just to enjoy sober nights, cooking, relaxing, not being Faced as soon as I get home. I read these posts 6 weeks ago, and never thought I'd make it. So, again, my point is it get's better, stay on here and make it happen. When you change the way you look at things, the Things you look at change.....You can dooo eeeet!!!

Good job on the six weeks, and the quitting caffeine too! That can be just as tough!

Happy for you, Jedi.

And you're right...these aren't the droids I was looking for.

Move along.

Congrats on the 6 weeks JT !!

Had to laugh when I was reminiscing about cutting the caffiene months before I was able to quit drinking last year. My adled mind reasoned my shaky penmanship at work was related to a (as in ONE ) cup of coffee !

.....talk about denial to the bitter end !?!
