Thanks and thanks J for starting this thread. I knew I was close to the 3 year mark, but forgot the actual day was today. Friday the 13th. Hmmmm . . . guess that's good luck for me.
I remain in awe over the people on SR and the grat pack continues to inspire me on a daily basis. This Newcomers board will always be my home also because I have not and never will graduate from being a newcomer.
Its a one day at a time type thinking that has proved successful in more then this area of my life. We are about to undertake selling our home, relocating about 1800 miles away. If ever I needed to live one day at a time it is currently. Our life can get so stressful at times, but if we stop and breathe and continue forward then we can progress our sobriety, as well as our growth.
I continue to learn from all of you and I can't even thank you enough for all you've given me. I am who I am today because of my alcoholism and so therefore it hasn't been a total waste, in my opinion. I finally understand being grateful for even this in my life. I'm a better mom, wife and person because I got sober and because I went on this journey to discover why I turned to drinking and other self destructing habits. I was a smoker 8 years ago and that was also a bad addiction. I get the fact that if we don't look to the "why's" then we could easily find something else to cling to.
OMG WOMAN - shut up already!!! Thanks Joanie for being my best friend ever and I can't wait until we meet someday. You are the sister I would have chosen had God asked. Now I need to go start packing and decluttering and . . . Breathe!!

congrats my dear friend....I have decided to name my newest Japanese Maple after you...from today forward my new baby tree is named Horselover! (thus insuring it will take and thrive too as you do)....I feed and water it regularly.
