18months and I can totally believe it!
I did not get sober until I knew I had a solid plan to get me through the 6 to 8 months it would take to recover from the physical addiction of alcohol. What I didn't know and am totally amazed by, is all that I have learned about myself through recovery.
Thank you SR for being a big part of that recovery these last 7mo.

First, I want to say that everyone's plan is unique to them. I chose to go to a dual diagnosis treatment center based on CBT for 30 days, followed a therapy and addiction counseling plan, attended sr meetings regularly, and took vitamins, anti-depressant meds, and addiction meds (not benzos). I also exercised, ate properly, spent time with people I loved who were "good" for me and centered most of my fun time around my son and husband. I also talked to God everyday and read about alcoholism or spirituality, or buddhism everyday.
I am grateful everyday to be alive and to know God and to be able to love myself.
