Thumbs up Back again!

Some of you may remember me - I've been around for a while trying to kick this thing1 I did 8 months on my own then dribs and brabd thinking I was 'in control'. Long story short (as I have to get my little girl to bed...) I finally admitted my powerless on Friday night...called AA and got myself to my first ever meeting last night. WOW! It was like coming home...Iwill catch up with you all properly soon, just wanted to shuffle back in - hope that's ok....

Hi! I realized my powerlessness too. I'm so glad that you are going to AA!!! That's wonderful that it felt like coming home! Perhaps a sign from above?

Thanks! the trouble I feel now, is having been to one and really felt it would be for me I'm a bit nervous about going to another - although i feel i really need it today..lots of bad thing happening in my head : - I have a list of local groups and have arranged to go to one tomorrow night but just don't know where to turn today...it was hard enough walking into a roomful of strnagers the first time, they will probably be different people this time. Am i making sense? argh!!

Like i said last time...pick any meeting, get a sponsor, work the steps, get a spiritual awakening and all the BS stops...good to see you back:-)

Odds are, the Primary Purpose and closed BB (for alcoholics only), will be focused on the AA solution to alcoholism. Those folks will most likely be able to show you how they recovered by taking the 12 Steps and having a spiritual awakening.

Yes, just keep getting to meetings... it gets better, so hard to believe sometimes but SO TRUE.

Everyone at the meetings are there for the same reason you are, they know exactly what you are going through.

Early days so hard but the more people you meet the more likely you are to find the right support and hopefully even a sponsor.

It is a hard road, push through the fear and do it for yourself... you are worth it!

... and Welcome back to you. I have only been on this site for 1 day myself.
I can see that this is a very good place to be

Wishing you all the best
