I found a way to beat hangovers!!!!
I found a way to beat hangovers!!!!
Remember trying to find ways to minimize or prevent hangovers? I sure do. What a joke it was. I just needed gatorade and advil before bed. Then it was setting my alarm to take more advil in the middle of the night. Or it was drinking a lot of water before bed. Or the next day exercising to "power through the hangover".
I want you all to know that I finally, after 35 years on this earth, have found a way to beat hangover!! Ready? Not drinking! Yeah, that's right. It turns out if you don't drink buckets full of booze, you don't get hungover. LOL.
What got me thinking of this is this morning I played in my golf league and after about 10 holes I was thirsty. I decided to get a bottle of water and I suddenly had a flashback to all of those times I was hungover on the golf course and MADE myself drink water all day so I could "fix" my hangover. Today, no fix was needed. Haven't been hungover in 86 days! I then got to thinking how silly a solution water was to buckets full of booze from the previous night.
Life is hard enough to get through without being hungover. I'm sure somebody is reading this post hungover today. Why not make a decision to not feel this way anymore.
We can all get better, just takes a little honesty and a lot of work!!!!
Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Man, that took me right back to that horrid feeling where your head is pounding, your nerves buzzing, and your brain is just saying "hold on, hold on, you can get through this....."
Thanks for that reminder - it was a good one!!

It wasn't just the physical sickness, tho that was bad enough, but it was more the hating myself that did me in. Haven't felt like that in almost 15 months now. You couldn't pay me enough to go back there. I'd rather wake up broke and happy.

I love the idea of not having a hangover is not to drink in the first place! I have never been a drinker more of the pill poppin princess, or so I thought. But pills give bad hangovers too! And the best way not to have that feeling is just not to do it! Love that thought!
Thanks for this post, reg. It helps to remember the madness that was my life for so long. Planning ahead on how to not get a hangover, dealing with the hangover all the next day...And doing it over and over and over again. What insanity. Sure glad I don't have to live like that any longer.
This made me laugh remembering my ridiculous hangover concoctions. It started simply with water, then water and Advil, then Gatorade and Advil, then Gatorade/Advil/Klonopin. Long before the Klonopin came around, I was already longing for the days when I thought a headache was a hangover. Artsoul, you described it perfectly.
I used to say when I was a kid woah I could never be an alcoholic my hangovers are so bad I could NEVER drink 2 days in a row.
I was wrong!
SO glad to not have those anymore my friends used to say if they had hangovers as bad as mine they wouldn't drink. That's mental illness folks! :rotfxko
