Hello everyone!
Hello all, I'm a 23 year old male and I found this forum a couple years ago and have been a visitor off and on, but now I've finally decided to join. Currently I am on my 5th day sober. Just a couple hours ago I got back from a bar with 2 friends who drank, at one point I thought to myself "I don't have a problem, I can drink!" woah what dangerous thinking! I was tempted and I knew what I was getting myself into before hand yet I managed to make it out alive, and sober! Whew!
Anyways I'm starting to feel the positive affects of sobriety, someone told me that I lost weight and my face looked brighter which is definitely an additional motivator to stay sober! I'm still feeling the brain fog somewhat, the first 3 days were the worst though, I couldn't focus on anything anybody said to me, it's like words went into one ear and out the other. All in all, these positive changes are reinforcing my decision to stay dry. I just bought a new truck today and have been making large life decisions that will truly benefit me if I keep my nose clean.
Sorry if this post seems self absorbed, it just feels good to finally get this off my chest!
