I hope you take a few moments to pat yourself on the back for taking these very big steps that will save your life. I went to AA because I couldn't get sober alone. Me alone with my own sick thinking didn't work. And the support of the group, of people who had taken the steps before me. I've stayed because there's a healing that happens in the rooms of AA. I don't know what it is (I'm an atheist) but it has saved my life.
