Rational recovery Avrt anyone try it?
I bought this book Rational recovery by Jack Trimpy quite a few years ago never fininished or even got a quarter way through. Anyways it's all about a method called AVRT has anyone tried it? I'm going to read it all the way through this time, need all the help I can get.
Yes and it has worked very well for me. I didn't care for all the AA bashing in it, Trimpy clearly has serious issues with AA. I also use much of AA in my continuing recovery.
Good for you for reaching out. I hope it helps you as much as it does me.

Lenina

I'm not familiar with AVRT per se but most of the rational recovery ideas are great tools, imo. My recovery is based on a Hodge lodge of rational recovery methods, self help books and a smattering of 12 step idea...so far, so good:-)

Knowing the AVRT is a good skill to have in my recovery tool box. Like other skills I have learned in recovery, it takes practice to master them.
