20 days sober
GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!! I love this quote: “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tzu
I'm 49 days in , and it's amazing how much easier life gets. And my step work in AA makes everything so clear and simple when I work the program. Best of luck with your recovery. You can do anything you set your mind to!

Day 20 also
Xuse, grats,
Today is my day 20. I am new here and found this sight looking up Using Dreams. I have burried myself in alcohol for the past 24 years, lost one marriage to it and almost lost my GF and BFF because of it. It is sickening to me to think of all the time I missed and the loss I have endured because of it. I am sure everyone here can relate. I made a decision 20 days ago to change my life and so far is the best thing I have ever done for myself and family. There is a lot of work to be done now but there was a quote on here I read that goes something like, "even a journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step" I have begun this journey with you all, I have a lot to learn and from reading the posts on here, I felt this was a good place to start.

That is wonderful news xuse... a huge accomplishment... it isn't easy, but one step at a time will work and you will see the results. It will get easier.
Stay focused and dig deep when you need to... to reach your goal. It will be so worth it.
Once again congratulations
Have a fabulous day!!!!!!!

Good Morning all
Hey all, was out for a few days. It is very inspiring to read all the posts on here. I am now at day 24. My councelor said it takes 23 days for the effects of alcohol to full get out of your system in regards to the depression and irritation aspects, day 23 was my first mile marker and I can say, I feel great. When I look back just a few weeks ago, it was like my head was in a dark cloud. I am now seeing things in a way I never have and I like it. I have a lot of work to do as do we all but I am looking forward to the future now where as before I hated the days and especially the evenings. I feel my life has returned to me.
