Excited to be here....
I will! And as far as chakras and stuff goes...I love it all too. And I LOVE essential oils! (hippie chick!)
Also, thank you Fighting Chance. I need to get my feet wet with the posting so I can get to know some folks here.

Some things I realized just now about sobriety; I am aware o the sun on my face and the wind in my hair again, I am enjoying music again, especially my old brazilian stuff which I haven't listened to in 4 years!
These are some o the benefits of sobriety:-)

I am looking forward to that and also just a sense of gaining control over myself for probably the first time ever. I've binged a couple of times a week since I was 15 years old and I'm 38 now so its been a really long time. I don't know what its like to be sober as an adult but I'm looking forward to ALL of the benefits. Thanks for sharing that LaFemme! Is it inappropriate to ask how long you've been sober? I don't know the etiquette here yet.
I don't think asking how long is bad etiquette, we are all pretty open about it;-) I am just finishing day 25 and I am 38 as well. I've been trying to quit for 5 years, tried more times then I can even count, never made it past 7 days and that was only once. Drank about 2 liters of wine a day and about half a pack of cigarettes, was constantly depressed as well. Drank mostly at home by myself. That's the whole sordid tale in a nutshell:-D
Welcome aboard Chakra!
I was a drinker every day for the last couple months and quitting cold turkey took a toll on me during detox the first couple days. My vision was really blurry and had the uncontrollable shakes but that's expected. Nonetheless, my physical well-being got back into the swing of things within 3-4 days.
I now feel alive and vibrant; able to see again; no shakes and my brain is just a tad sharper than when I was drinking. More importantly, I have the ability to socialize in a somewhat intelligent manner as opposed to hiding from people when I was drinking.
Sobriety is the way of life!

i started at a health store right following getting off methadone. i too am into chakras, haven't studied them much, but into the flower essences and all the natural feel good stuff. when i was on opiates i got into herbs and aromatherapy. however, i never could tell if they were actually working or not. now i take gaba (amino acid) also an amino acid blend (trying to rebuild my damaged neurotransmitters), and i carry lavender oil, and ginger with me at all times. getting off opiates and being able to experience all these (new things to me) are so awesome. i study everyday at work. listen to peoples stories, and try to help myself the best i can.
chakra i am very interested in anything you have to say about chakras!!
