Congrats! 5 days is something for which you should be proud! I am close to 60, so by no means have any long term sobriety, but I can relate to how you worded this. . ."I am actually kinda pround."
In the first week, I remember feeling so proud of myself for going 2, 3, 5, 8 days without drinking. Sometimes I felt really silly; as if I were patting myself on the back for something most people do without thinking. But you know what? Most people do not have our disease. Most people don't know how hard it is for us to not drink, especially when our bodies are still crying out for alcohol.
You done good, Mr. Serious!

Mr.S....this is great news! we are proud of you too. I hope you are feeling well both physically and mentally. I'm thinking if you look in the mirror you will begin to see positive changes in your eyes and skin too.

Yes 5 days is great news Mr. Serious. It's a step in the right direction and you should feel good about yourself. A little self pat on the back won"t hurt you at all.
Glad to see you posting and hope to see more.
Prayers are with you and God bless.

Good job, Mr. Serious, and you should be proud! It's not easy to do what we're doing. I'm finding that there are lots of different ways to feel good about life, but it's not something that happens overnight. Even at 3 months I've had a few rough patches, but it really does continue to get better............ Keep going - you're doing great!!

Tha k u all so much! U all have really made a huge difference in my life. Without this support group I have found here online I don't know if I could do what I'm doing. I've decided at day 8, Sunday morning at 9am to be exact, I will go to church, I'm not religious at all but hey something is giving me will, and then to the gym and to begin rebuilding the fantastic body I once had and have now nearly destroyed. Then, back into my martial arts, my one true passion and gift.
Thank all of u so much again. I am honored.
