I love the passing on coin ritual idea to the sponsee too. very special.
Just googled aa chip coin holders craft ideas and it came up with many links that might jog the brain for some creative thoughts if interested.
I love the stuff that is randomly found - at flea markets, yard sales, etc. and turning them into unique and personal holders or displays.
Found a metal tree wall deco (like the one below) at a yard sale. I didn't buy it thinking I'd use it for the AA chips/coins, but when I hung it up, it just worked - looks like multi-colored pieces of fruit wedged neatly in the branches. I've since seen smaller versions of this type of wall decor in stores.
And, since it's hanging on my wall, I see it all the time.
