Thumbs up TOPIC: What Are You Doing Today?

Hi im Sharon and Im an alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
"POISON" since 8-11-90.

For that amd you I am truely grateful.

What are you doing today?

We have Earth Day in downtown
Baton Rouge today. My spouse
and I are planning to go this after-
noon to see the group LeRoux play.

In my first marriage and during my
drinking career we would walk to the
club not far away to go listen to
them play.

We would practically close the
bar down. Drink till i was numb
and dance my azz off. lol

This group is homegrown and it
will be nice to hear their old songs
again even if its been yrs since I
last saw and heard them.

Today ill appreciate them even
more because ill be listening to
them with sober ears and a grateful
heart.

Rock and Roll is here to stay.

Who doesnt like music. I always have.
Even when i was pregnant i listened
to all kinds and thus the result was
raising 2 awesome kids both who
played in their school band. One a
trombone player and became the Drum
Major his Senior yr. The other a French
Horn. My son went on to major in music
and both have a talent which will carry
on forever.

Loves music.

I'm doing lots of walking in the beautiful sunshine today and enjoying the gorgeous daffodils and tulips everywhere. It's also a chance for Mr A and me to have some good discussions without distractions.

A person Harley...l mean hardly
ever fails if he follows the path
of recovery and all that it offers.

The proof is in those that we
follow with many one days
at a time collected together
to get them where they are
today.

Im passing on my ESH today
to those who are interested
and remain teachable just
like me. Ill throw in the
forcast for free too. lol

I have been napping all day and will probably go get back to it soon. I seem to do a lot of that since I stopped drinking.

Amanda, I did that a lot in the first few weeks - it does get better, so hang in there.

I did some cleaning earlier, caught up on this week's episodes of Coronation Street and then walked to the grocery story. Now I am doing a bunch of cooking as it helps me to de-stress.

Thanks guys for sharing ur day
with us here in SR. Letting others
know how you r handling ur day
sober or clean gives them en-
couragement.

Your body goes thru mental, physical,
pshcological, spiritual changes as
u continue on ur recovery journey.

Handle each at a time and as
needed. Staying sober for me
was first then i was able to
handle the rest later.

It does get better but remembering
it wont happen in my time. I
had to let go and let my HP
guide and protect me along the
way. And He did.

Today I spent a lovely overcast
afternoon with my spouse sitting
on the grass at our Earth Day
celebration downtown Baton Rouge.

We listen to La.'s own LeRoux sing
New Orlean's Ladies and other
favorite songs.

We road our bike there and back
before rain came down. Dont
know if others were lucky to get
out before they got wet.

Glad to be safe and warm in
my chair sharing with my online
recovery group. You SR...!

Well my day is winding down and coming to a close, it is off to bed with a book in a few minutes.
The usual Sunday for me, started with Mass, then cooked a nice dinner, after cleaning the fish tank. Not very exciting, but I'm sober and that what makes it a good day.
Nite all.

Another day as Im grateful
to be sober. Starting off ur
day by asking PLEASE to
help u stay sober & watching
over us and guiding us
gently along our journey
in recovery.

I have a plan to go to
a noon meeting if nothing
else distracts me first.

The meeting is there
for our benifits. It's a
place to go if u dont
want to do housework.
Yardwork. Cooking...

It's also another place where
we dont need to Isolate. To
feel or be alone. U and all
these awesome people

Speaking of isolation....did
u know it sneaks up on us?

We can mask it with familiar
props that are not in themselves
bad. We can isolate ourselves in
an attempt to clean up our
apartments(and then not do the
cleaning).

Or we can isolate ourselves
in churches or in sleep;
we can use family, sweethearts,
compulsive working, television.

The list is long. The nicest
way to end it is the way
you and I do together.

Reach out -- people can't
read your mind. Say ouch!
Someone hears. Always.

Here's something to think
about during whatever u
do today.....

An alcoholic is someone who
wants to be held while isolating.

Found out today that new dermal
dangle jewelry will be in tomorrow
at the tattoo clinic here in Town.

I had one small one placed on
the center of my chest. A little
sparkle.

Now ill go get the dangle one
tomorrow and wait to get it
put in a new piercing soon.

Maybe closer towards my cleavage.

I'm surfing the net and watching a movie. Relaxing and getting ready to go to bed soon. It was a nice sunny day today.
