Thought I would bump this up - I like to see how people choose to spend their weekend's sober, since it inspires me to find things to do, too.

Today I am going to take the ferry to Toronto Island and wander around the park for a while.

today I am going to do my weekly chores (clean my car, laundry, shop, cook) while working intermittently on my latest mosaic. I underestimated the work that goes in to covering a large rock entirely in glass, and it needs to be done by mother's day!

Later I will hot tub, swim if the pool is warm, bbq for my room mate, and go to the beach. I hope to end the evening at a speaker meeting, last night's speaker was hysterical.

I will take time to thank my HP/the universe/the Great Pumpkin/whoeveritmayconcern, because the powers that be have been working overtime helping me lately, and I am in awe and filled with gratitude for my life today

Still cleaning the garage and still listening to dead head music... Fillmore East - April, 1971, good stuff... oh yea, gotta do some work on the old lawn mower, I hate that more and more every year... that's why I listen to music while getting my hands greasy.

Surfing the net and watching movies again this Saturday. Staying inside 'cause of thunderstorms and rain. Three dogs on the rug, keeping me company. A pleasant lazy day.

Today I am up and at 'em nice and early. Going to finish some light housework, grab a quick shower, then find a park to go for a nice long walk in. Can't decide if I want to go to Toronto Island, the Metro Zoo, Humber River Valley, or Harbourfront. I think I will wing it and see where I end up.

I am so thankful for days like today!

It's going to be a lovely weekend here, so I'm going backpacking. Going to sit in camp, sip on pots of tea by the lake.

FA cup Final day in England. Just bought my 2 litre bottle of Coca-Cola. In the fridge chilling. My team is not in the final, but I have never missed an FA cup final.

I always used to spend the day in the pub drinking or at home drinking.

Today I will watch the game with my dad... Sober.

Have a great sober Saturday everyone!

Today I went to a noon AA meeting, ate some Chinese food, and worked out in the apartment gym (which is actually pretty nice). Now I'm going to work till 2am. Have a great night, everybody!

Thumbs up

It is nice to find out
how others spend their
days sober or clean.

I learned that if i do
at least one thing a
day then ive accom-
plished something.

Just waking up sober
or clean is a huge
accomplishment for us
in recovery to do
everyday. What
a blessing.

At the moment here
in Baton Rouge it is
raining.

Just finished watching
the Preakness Horse race.
The second race for the
Triple Crown. Borell
from Louisiana didnt
win this time.

Let's see ...what else.....
we went to get a bite to
eat earlier and took a trip
to Lowes to check out
the storm doors.

We want to place one
on the front door
for addded security.

Why u ask.....lol well....
i dont like answering
the door period. And just
recently we added a peep
hole just so i can see
who comes to the door.

With a storm door, IF
i ever open the door,
i can have that barrier
between me and them.

Its another way to
protect myself once
again not allowing
people to get to close
for fear of getting
hurt.

As a child i got verbally
and physicallyhurt
from my mom who
was also sick.

A lovely women who
never seemed to
be sick by others,
but behind doors she
was mean and cruel.
Dr. Jeckle/Mr. Hyde
personality with
prescription meds
and alcohol.

Blame the disease...
it destroyes all in its
path.

Anyway...i still even
after all these yrs
insecure at times....
but tough if need to
be.

Becareful,,,,i have
tats and piercings
and got my bike
endorsement even
tho i love riding
passenger with
my spouse. lol

....and still a child
at heart.

Thanks guys for
sharing ur days with
us.

i'm baking cupcakes w/ my daughter for my dogs's 1st(seriously) b-day which happens to be today and it is a good excuse to bake with her and have a small party, just me her and daddy.
Its more for my daughter than my dog, as ,uch as I love dogs I am not that hard core and if I didnt need a major distraction her eon day 7 which included shopping for supplies,l gifts for the dog, and my daughter ending up w/ more than him (of course) and bieng shory some cash so i put the detergent back b.c I was holding up the line and when I told my daughter I was going to put her ball back she staqrted to cry so I gave our detergent back b.c it was the only other item over $5.oo and I was walking out whne the cashier came running after me w/ the detergent and told me the man behind me had paid for it. I went back and told him he didnt have to do that, and he said its only $5.00 he insists so I said Ok and living in an area where a lot of things like this or even close dont happen often I was filled w/ gratitue and thankful.
Then I was buckiling my daughter in the car and a lady went running by and told me mam your cart getting away (with all my stuff and purse it in BTW) and she ran her butt of to get it and bring it back to me and again I was astounded b.c usually at this particular stor anf in the area I love someone would have leisurly strolled by and said my cart was getting away laughed at me and continued walking.
I think or should say know that b.c I have my spirituality back on track (in the works at least ) with God hat he is for sure looking over me again and I have Him on my side b.c i have made such good decisions and feel rewarded (isnt the best word) but I am rushing and its the only word I can think of right now.
I know that God had His hands in both of those situations and is showing me he sees what I am doing to change my life and in a way he is showing me that he sees that.
I am so gracious and thankful to these strangers....

Had a productive day doing yard work and then picked up my mother in law at the airport in Newark. Skipped a Graduation Party for a friend that just got her MSW. Feels good to have energy to spend my Saturday productively. Its been a long time. Getting ready for bed in a few minutes. One post a day on SR and one day at a time is my goal for now. So far its working. No alcohol since May 5th. Feeling better everyday! Thank you all.

Today I had a garage sale, made $215 towards my trip to India. Then I worked for two hours with a kid with autism, and then I went to a puppet performance at my church, now I'm on here and watching tv.
