30 Year Drunk, 90 Days Sober

You may have seen me on the "Men's Room" board, I don't say much but I'm sharing what I have. I noticed another "90 days" post so I thought I'd join in as I'm also on "90 days sober" tomorrow. No big deal in the big picture, I know, but to me it is the attainment of the impossible over the hopelessness of experience. And that makes me feel worthwhile. Good luck to all of you. Dime's Right, everyday is a big deal, I cant seem to go more than 86 hours, my best is 14 days in 4 years, but when i drink, I drink like a crazy person.

Hang tight, i know how great it feels to not drink and as you may too I know how crappy it feels to give in... even if it is the next day before you feel that way.

Congratulations on 90 days.....I am right behind you (87 days)!! I feel like there should be a parade down main street for us!! It is a huge deal!! Keep on keeping on!!

I think that the first months are the hardest so it is a very big deal.

I'm like you Jim 30 year drunk, I'm a little over 1 year sober and I never thought my life could be this good!!!! Keep Strong!!! And thanks for sharing..

Jim - so glad to meet you! I'm like you, longterm drinker. Didn't imagine I could ever live without it. I came here still drinking, but found the courage to stop.

90 days is amazing - as Fubar said, those first months are the hardest for most of us. Learning to live again without falling back on our crutch takes alot of courage. You are doing great, and it's wonderful to have you here. Congratulations, Jim!!
