72 days sober

I am here 72 days later and still sober. I have had some difficult feelings to work through over the past two months. I am allowing myself to work through them without resorting to drinking. It is simply not the answer for me anymore. I need clarity in order to heal. I feel great knowing I have come this far and have no desire to drink right now. It is almost like I am wanting to feel the pain in order to reach the reward. I have the biggest reward I have had in years, gaining more insight into myself and learning who I truly am. Good night all.

Yo a fellow Torontonian I say congrats on 72 days too.
It is a good feeling to no longer have that desire to drink.

Being a guy it was hard for me to learn how to feel,....and to learn it was okay.

Good for you and congratulations on 72 days of sober living. You definitely have the right idea. We have to walk through the darkness in order to appreciate the light.

Thanks everyone. I had such a hard day today as well but still there is no urge to drink. I even cried and yelled really loud into a pillow since I was so frustrated about something I am going through right now, but now I feel more at peace with myself because I allowed myself to just go through it until it passed. I am teaching myself that drinking is not the answer. I find when I get it out of my system it gets easier and easier and easier. Here is to tomorrow another day in the discovery of my sober life. One step at a time. Good night all.

Congratulations on your sober time....and congratulations on dealing with what you have to, as a sober person. The experience you are having now, will make you stronger in your sobriety.

Sleep well, sec!
