Newbie - Day 9
I just wanted to say hello and thank you. I have been reading a lot on this site and am appreciative of the inspiration. I can relate to so much.
I am a mom who let myself get carried away by wine and finally realized enough is enough. Its not fun, its not trendy, its not glamorous. Why do they make the glasses so pretty? It's an illusion that what's inside is pretty and fun and totally acceptable. Well for an alcoholic it is, I guess for everyone else they are just pretty glasses.
Anyway, thanks again, in addition to my f2f meetings, its nice to have positive information available whenever I need some reinforcement.

I completely understand
I too am a wine drinker and surrounded by pretty wine glasses filled with smiling people holding them everywhere. (Living in NYC) I'm proud of you for making it through your first nine days successfully. I've gone a couple of weeks before this successfully, when I was on a medication that wouldn't go well with drinking, but this time seems harder because I know I need to quit forever. I'm only on my second day! Congrats on making it to nine!
